HSH Exceeds 100,000 lbs. Donated for 2016

It’s official as well as profound – based on data received HSH has now again exceeded delivering over 100,000 lbs. of donated venison to statewide food banks for the 2016 season. This repeats our meeting the goal for a second year straight, and while commemorating our 25th anniversary and that million pounds (now +) delivered since 1991.

And this preliminary total will still increase – we are waiting for the last 15 shops to finish their accounting and report in so we can wrap up last season once and for all. Following that we’ll distribute more detailed press information and final totals since the HSH program is now followed by news media internationally!

As always, this achievement would not have been possible without effective relationships – the passionate support and dedication of Pennsylvania hunters to deliver thousands of deer to butcher shops; our participating processors; cooperating food banks and provider agencies; and our network of volunteer county coordinators.

And most importantly our cadre of sponsoring state government partners – Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture, Game Commission, DCNR and Legislature, as well as almost 100 industry, foundation and organizational supporters we can never recognize enough. Thank you!
